the Department of Forensic Evidence Techniques organized a scientific course entitled: (Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics: Towards Sustainable Care that Preserves the Environment and Protects Patient Rights).

Under the auspices of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, and with the follow-up of the Dean of Al-Hawija Polytechnic College, Professor Dr. Omar Khalil Ahmed, the Department of Forensic Evidence Techniques organized a scientific course entitled: (Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics: Towards Sustainable Care that Preserves the Environment and Protects Patient Rights).

The lectures were delivered by each of:

• Asst. Prof. Dr. Attiya Suleiman Khalifa

• Lect. Dr. Wisam Jassim Mohammed

• Lect. Dr. Shahad Fadhil Bunyan

The course was attended by a number of the college’s faculty, staff, and students.

The course covered:

• Introducing the types of fixed and removable dental prostheses and their role in improving oral health.

• Reviewing the materials used in manufacturing prostheses and their environmental impact.

• Discussing the concept of sustainability in modern dental practices.

• Clarifying patient rights in accordance with professional and legal standards.

The course demonstrated:

• The importance of adopting eco-friendly materials and methodologies in the field of prosthodontics.

• The necessity of increasing awareness of the environmental impacts of traditional therapeutic procedures.

• The relationship between the responsible use of dental materials and achieving sustainable care.

The course aimed to:

• Enhance environmental awareness among workers in the health sector in general, and the dental sector in particular.

• Highlight patient rights as part of the quality of care provided.

• Encourage the adoption of modern practices and technologies that reduce waste and environmental pollution.

The course concluded with the following recommendations:

• Adopting sustainable and eco-friendly dental materials in manufacturing and application.

• Holding continuous training courses on sustainability in the medical sector.

• Obligating health institutions to develop policies that reduce non-biodegradable medical waste.
